On Saturday morning, the 11th of November, 2023, Kreuzkirche held its annual men’s breakfast at the church centre. It was a wonderful get-together which was well attended by fifteen participants. On arrival each person received a cup of good steaming coffee and Ps Schalk Treurnicht opened the oc-casion by reading Psalm 8 followed by a prayer. Our invited speaker was Mr Bret Yotti (currently doing his master’s degree in Astrophysics at UCT). Bret gave a fascinating lecture on: “Exploring the Universe – an introduction to telescopes and the science of light.” The talk was well received and caught the attention of all present. After the presentation the men had a great time interacting with one another, while Detlev and Danie prepared scrambled eggs and bacon which was supplemented by crispy rolls, cheese and marmalade. All-in-all it was a most delightful and enjoyable event to be repeated again soon.
