We wish all, young and old – big and small, a very happy and prosperous 2017! May this year be filled with joy and good health.
At this time we would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to all in the congregation for the ongoing support and encouragement. It is truly appreciated.
The call committee for the new pastor met at the end of 2016. It was a positive meeting and valuable input was given by all who attended. We, in conjunction with Bishop Filter, are currently finalizing the advertisement for the vacancy, which will then be sent out. We hope and pray for a positive response.
As always, finances are limited and we therefore urge each and every one to look into their hearts when pledging.

The biggest foreseeable expenditures for 2017 are:

  • Appointment of a new pastor
  • Perimeter fence around the church
  • Roof replacement at 27 Middle Street

At this time we would also like to remind you that during the upcoming AGM, new Church Committee members need to be elected – as the saying goes, the more the merrier. Should you have any suggestions (even if it is YOU) on who might join us, please do not hesitate to contact the church office with the details.

2017 celebrates the 500 year anniversary of the 95 Theses posted (31/10/1517) by Martin Luther against the Schlosskirche (Castle Church) in Wittenberg, Germany. During the year we will host some activities in the church centre to commemorate this historic event – keep an eye on your newsletter for more information on this.

Kind regards,
Gisela
