Synod 2023
The 1st session of the XVIth Synod will take place from 12-14.10.2023 at St Cru- cis Lutheran Church, East London. The topic will be: “God sees!”
The CCW and CCE pre-synod meetings were an opportunity to discuss the fi- nancial statements and budgets for 2024 and2025. Good discussions on the motions took place. May the Lord bless the work of His church.
Assembly of the Lutheran World Federation (LWF)
The thirteenth Assembly of the LWF took place from 13 -19.9.2023 in the his- toric city of Krakow, Poland.

UELCSA Internships and students
Vicar Hermann Düvel has been placed in the Philippi and Wynberg Parish un- der the mentorship of Pastor Michael Denner. May this second phase of his in- ternship be fruitful for both him and the parish.
Vicar Ingrid van Sittert has returned from her internship in Namibia, and will serve as vicar in Stellenbosch under Pastor Beate Bidoli until her second Theo- logical Exam in February 2024. May it be a fruitful time.
Hans-Christoph Lange, Tristan Krüger and PJ Hanekom complete their MDiv in October. They will then prepare for their First Theological Exam which will take place in February 2024. We wish them much joy.
