Reflection on the watchword for August “The Lord heals the broken-hearted and binds up the wounds.” (Ps 147,3).

Psalm 147 is a song of thanksgiving that praises the greatness and goodness of God. God heals the broken-hearted, counts the stars and provides what we need. The psalm encourages us to trust in God with hope because He is the Creator and Redeemer who loves us and fills our lives with meaning and purpose. Verse 3 is a comforting assurance that God cares about our innermost pains. When we are broken, whether through loss, disappointment, or emotional injury, God promises to bring us healing. His care is not just superficial; He goes deep within us and works to bind up our wounds. This means that we are not alone in our darkest moments. God sees our suffering and has the power to give real comfort and healing. For me personally, this verse is a reminder that even when all seems lost, there is always hope and a source of healing.
