“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Matthew 28:20

The watchword for the month of April, where Easter will take place, is the last Scene of the Gospel of Matthew.  I often feel there are scenes in our lives, where the chapter is closed or the movies is truly ended. There is no possible follow-up to the closing scene. It is just tidely brought to a neat close, no questions left to be answered.

And then there was, Matthew‘s Gospel: Jesus sends out the followers and makes a promise to them. A promise to us. I will will be with you to the very end of the Age.  It does not end the chapter, nor does it neatly answer all the questions.

It does make clear, that Easter is not the end of the Chapter titled: „Emmanuel God with us“ but rather that we are still part of God‘s Story with the world. where God-is-still-with-us to the end of the age.  Not only was God with us in Golgotha, where He gave his Son. God is with us today in the difficult moments, through hardship and through the fantastic moments. Like any good story it, we share with others. And like any good scene you and I are not alone in this…. To the end of the Ages

Greetings from your Brother in Christ, wishing you a blessed Easter!
