The Church Committee report on the Budget Meeting of 26th October 2014:

A well-balanced Budget was presented by the church Committee at the Extraordinary Meeting of our congregation. The Committee reported that the finances were controlled well, which enabled the congregation to be financially on a sounder footing. The Committee also expressed its thanks to the members of the congregation for their ongoing and loyal support, and to those who spent time in working out the budget.

There was a lively exchange of comments and ideas after Pastor Molchin had given an outline of the long-time future for our congregation. He introduced some thoughts on the possibilities to establish an English-speaking multicultural branch parallel to the existing model. In practice it could mean to offer a weekly English service in our Church of the Cross. One would still have to work out details in timing, as to   whether the English service should be early, perhaps at 09h00, and the Afrikaans or German services to follow. Pastor Molchin made it clear that the English services would not be a substitute for existing services, they will be in addition to them. After some discussion, the congregation members present agreed to have this model tested.
