On Sunday Judica (18th March) the congregation of the Lutheran Church in Kraaifontein celebrated the 10th anniversary of their brass band. We as congregation of the Cross were officially invited, so five of our members attended the festive service in the beautiful church building. The brass band, enlarged by a number of excellent players from the Wuppertal congregation, enhanced the worship service with real good music, of which the “Hallelujah” from Händel’s Messiah was listened to by the standing congregation, true to tradition!
In his short address Mr. Sachse said: “We as Lutherans acknowledge that there is a bond of friendship between us. We think that it is important in our time and day, that we as Christians bring proof of this unity in Christ into our country, in which so many divisions sadly still exist. It is our pledge, to experience and live this unity in Christ especially through our church music and by making music together as often as we can.”
